Gothenburg pioneers At the Gates are back, and they kicked off their North American tour last night at The Fillmore NY @ Irving Plaza in New York City with a stand out performance. Here is what the Swedish death-metallers played according to Blabbermouth:

MORBID ANGEL VOCALIST DETAINED IN ITALY FOR POSSESSING A 'WEAPON'

It seems that Italian airport security just can't appreciate good taste in apparel. Morbid Angel frontman David Vincent was withheld at an Italian airport earlier today for possessing his trademark bullet belt. After being detained by a group of 15 to 20 armed police officers, Vincent was questioned for two and a half hours before finally being released.

OPETH TO TOUR WITH HIGH ON FIRE, BARONESS, NACHTMYSTIUM

Despite vocalist Mikael Åkerfeldt's recent death-defying bout with chicken pox, Swedish progressive death-metallers Opeth have fully regrouped and will be ready to hit the road this fall with High on Fire, Baroness and Nachtmystium. The tour will continue the band's efforts in support of their recently released outstanding ninth full-length album, Watershed.

AMON AMARTH JUMP ON 'UNHOLY ALLIANCE' TOUR

The "Unholy Alliance: Chapter 3" tour just got a whole lot more... unholier? Swedish viking death-metallers Amon Amarth are adding their pagan brand of metal to a tour that already includes the almighty Slayer (fuck yea!), Trivium (eh), and Mastodon (boo). Some new dates have been announced as well.
