Stop the presses! The highly-anticipated Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards are in the books and Testament walked out as the surprise winners of the prestigious "Album of the Year" award for The Formation of Damnation. The thrashers took the award over runners-up Atreyu, Bullet for My Valentine, Children of Bodom and Down.
 

























While some may question the validity of the award, considering that Testament's new album was not particularly strong, that the year is only half over and that some of the nominees' genre classification is questionable, it is nice to see Testament honored with some sort of (probably cheap) award. Score one for old dudes everywhere. The ceremony was held at London's O2 Arena. More details regarding other winners will surely be announced soon... Stay tuned!
