In case interest for Metallica's new album wasn't high enough already, the band has stirred up a hornet's nest by releasing some mysterious new artwork on their Web site. The artwork, which can be seen below, could possibly be the album art for the upcoming LP. Or it could just be a clever red herring. The quartet has made plenty of other promotional efforts for the release as well, most notably documenting their rehearsal sessions on MissionMetallica.com.
