CARCASS GETS 'MESSED AROUND' BY METAL HAMMER

According to recently reunited British death-metallers Carcass, Metal Hammer - for lack of a better term - f---ed them over big time earlier this week. The band was slated to be given the "Inspiration Award" at the Golden Gods ceremony on Monday, but the presentation of the award was reportedly inexplicably shelved on the day of the event.

This left physically-disabled Carcass drummer Ken Owen - who was the impetus for the award - in the lurch. Owen posted a statement on the band's MySpace: "I'd have been proud and glad to pick up the award on everybody's behalf, but didn't make the ceremony due to the fact that Metal Hammer messed me around so much. In the end, they didn't even have the decency to admit that they either couldn't or wouldn't get transport for me. They just kept me hanging on with promises to get back to me to the point where it was too late for me to organize my own transport to London." Whatever the truth to the story is, this situation makes Metal Hammer look really, really bad.
